About Me
I earned a B.A. in Psychology at the University of Tennessee in 2000. After graduation, I gained valuable experience working at an inpatient facility with children, adolescents, and adults. From there I transitioned to working with adults for a community agency. Following one year stints at those positions, I was accepted to the master's experimental psychology (M.A.) program at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA. There I honed my clinical skills in teaching and research, but I genuinely missed working with people in a clinical setting.
Following the completion of my M.A. degree, I was accepted into the clinical psychology doctoral program (Ph.D.) at the University of Tennessee. Here, I gained invaluable experience and training in how to work with children, adolescents, and adults. After completing my doctoral degree, I completed a one-year internship at River Valley Services in Middletown, CT. Following my internship, I joined The Family Center, a group private practice in northern Virginia for my postdoctoral training. I remained there as a licensed clinical psychologist for 3 years before relocating to Knoxville in 2012. Most consider me a child psychologist since I predominantly work with children and families; however, I do see adults as well as couples on a regular basis.
